Woman effect on women

Nice dresses, shoes, bags... Even the best... For a woman it is really important to look nice and to be called "beautiful". Isn't all that rush for that?

Do we buy because we need one more black dress or one more red bag or one more blue skirt? Of course not! Most of the time it is a compensation for the things we lost in ourselves. By looking nice we try to fill in some gaps...

I had written before that men wear what women want and women just get dressed for themselves. To look nice! Have you ever thought that "that looking nice" is not just to look nice in the eyes of men. Yes, it is true. The women get dressed nicely most of the time to look nice in their fellows' eyes and to hear the sentence "Oh god, you look gorgeous" or to be asked "Where did you get that dress or bag?". Just think for a while: When you bought something new and nice, weren't you ready to answer all the questions about your new treasures?

"How do I look like today?"

Sometimes I find fashion as a race between women.  A woman never wants to be blamed for her clothes by another woman. So before going to a party or to a meeting it is better to ask the question "How do I look like today?" to a woman rather than a man... Or?

Ankle boots

November is the last month of autumn. We are about to welcome winter and also thicker clothes and long boots. So before getting colder and the winter freezes us, it is just time for ankle boots.

I bought recently those black boots by La Strada. The shiny stones and the leather belt around were the main reason why they attracted me. Such details make even just a simple black boot look stunning. It gives the boots a designer look.

And those brick colour boots (by 5th Avenue) can be combined with a similar colour or a black dress and with black tights.

This year I spent so much money on ankle boots. But I find them really comfortable. It is possible to wear them under jeans too. However I prefer not wear those brown boots (by Claudia Ghizzani) under jeans not to hide their beautiful design.

You can just wear a long pullover and leggings with ankle boots as well. Those above are by Scholl.

I wear those brown boots above sometimes under jeans but they are nicer with a mini skirt or dress.

Happier girls are prettier?

Is it possible to change your mood according to your clothing? I believe there is a “vice versa” issue here. It is both possible. What you wear might affect your mood and also your mood might have an influence on what you wear. At least it is like that for me.
Think that you woke up on a gloomy day. It is winter, cold and raining. Or you are just gloomy inside. You look out of the window and see people running around with their umbrellas in black and dark blue. In that rush nobody cares what they wear or how they look like. What is important is just to arrive at a safer, drier place or to catch the bus or subway and to be on time at work.

Just sit for a while and think about yourselves. Isn’t it the same for you? Do you really care about your clothing as soon as you open your eyes. Most probably not. You have other worries. You have to get ready. You have to prepare the breakfast. If you have children you have to make them get ready for school. And if you have a partner or husband, you even have to prepare them for work. They are like grown up babies most of the time. And you? You forgot yourself again. You didn't have the time to think about what you wear or how you look. In that rush most probably you will choose some gloomy dresses that fit your mood. In that case your mood affects your choice. You will not much care what you wear. You will just open the door of the wardrobe and take whatever comes or just wear what you prepared before sleeping to wear in the morning without much thinking.

On the other hand let’s take the issue of changing your mood with your look. Every woman wants to be beautiful. Every woman wants to be spoiled. And those are the elements that make you feel better. There is no doubt about that issue. Positive feelings are important for the success at work or school too. So my suggestion is going thoroughly about what you wear the next day or waking up a little bit earlier. Choose the dresses that fit you the best and that make you feel beautiful and different. And put on some jewelry and make-up. Not in a rush!

If you succeed to make yourself to look different in the society and giving up being a ghost, there is the happiness. You might have many problems but at least by feeling different and attractive, you push those worries deep into your subconscious during the day. Don’t forget that: Happier girls are prettier girls…

Or not? I would be happy to hear your ideas too...

Cabins or internet?

Today we will learn what fashion or shopping means for Senay Tura. She works in a textile company as a marketing expert. Although she likes shopping as each woman, cabins are not her favourite place.

Can you tell us about your style?

I like to wear casual and comfortable clothes.

I prefer generally white, red, blue and green colours. I believe they fit me better. They fit my skin colour. For instance the colours orange or yellow don'’t look nice on me. I feel myself more energetic with light colours.

I like décolleté in dresses or tops. I usually don'’t wear things that closes the whole neck. It should be a little bit open over the breasts. In summer I prefer clothes without sleeve.

How do you get dressed at work? Is it different than during the day?

I wear skirt or trousers made from cloth at work. But during the day when I go out I wear jeans or denim skirts. Mostly sportive.

Even if I go out for a special night I try to look sportive. There should be some elements that show me energetic. I don'’t prefer very classical dresses or suits.

Do you go shopping very often?

I mostly go shopping when I need something. I also buy if I see a nice dress, shoes or bags while I am wandering out. I never say “"I am bored. I should go out and buy something”".

Do you like trying clothes at the shops?

It is not my favourite to go to a shop and try the things hours and hours. I don’t like the cabins. I know my size. I just look at the thing I like and say “Yes, it fits me” and I get it. My size is M or L. Something between. But I understand when I look. I buy often white shirts. Anyway you can’t try white shirts or dresses. It is forbidden here. I sometimes try just the skirts to see how long they are. That’s it. Cabins are horror for me.

What about internet?

It is easier to buy in internet for me. It is written there already M or L. You just click and buy. It is easier.

Which brands or designers do you like?

LC Waikiki, Lacoste, Polo, Adidas… There are some Turkish brands also such as adl, DeFacto. I buy there a lot… I find Cengiz AbazoÄŸlu’s designs nice. He is a Turkish designer. I also like Jennifer Lopez’s style. I like the way she gets dressed.

As far as I see you don't like very showy things? What about the accessories?

Oh, they should be showy. I strike a balance between casual clothing and very showy accessories. For example huge hats or glasses are sine qua non.

The jewelry is also important for me. They should be large too.

Necklaces, bracelets, earrings or rings with huge stones...

However pearl and starfish figures are very important for me.

Do you have an offer for women to hide their weights?

Short skirts with narrow cuts make you look thinner. I suggest never choosing pencil skirts. The ladies with unwanted weights should prefer also shirts, t-shirts or skirts with long vertical lines.

They should try wearing long cardigans or jackets. Wide leg trousers are also not good. And last tip: Leggings! Never!

Thanks Senay for sharing her likes and dislikes with us... My next interview will be with a fashion designer...

“I can’t find anything to wear”

Today I have a guest. Her name is Sedef Cakir. She is 33 years old and lives in Istanbul. She studied engineering but her job nowadays is being a mother. She has a lovely son who is 1 year old. We had a nice speech with her. She told us her choices, likes and dislikes. As most of the women she complains about not being able to find anything to wear in her wardrobe. Let’s see what a young mother thinks about fashion.

How do you define your style? What kind of models attracts you?

To be honest nowadays I don’t have much style. I gained so much weight during the pregnancy and then lost weight after birth. But I am still not as before. However I prefer generally sportive clothes.

I like jeans much. Also denim skirts, denim bags… I don’t like shirts for instance. We had uniform at high school. It reminds me that. I don’t like wearing jacket too. It is also because of the same reason. It makes me crazy.

Denim love

Most of the time I say that I don’t have anything to wear. It is classical for women you know. You open the wardrobe, look at it hours and hours and you can’t find anything to wear. I feel most of the time so.

Purple cardigan by LC Waikiki

I don’t prefer wearing t-shirts also much. I wear mostly blouses. I like cardigans and scarf around the neck as well.

Are you selective?

Yes, I am very selective in respect of clothing. I don’t wear everything. For instance I never wear clothes with shiny stones or pink colour. However I should admit something. I was given a pink dress as a present after birth. I wear it. It is the only pink cloth of mine.

Summer is the skirt time...

I don’t go and buy something pink especially. Otherwise all of my clothes are black, blue, green or purple. I usually prefer those colours.

Y London skirt

I like also authentic things. For example I have purple baggy trousers. I bought it in Grand Bazaar and wore it very often.

The purple baggy trousers

I wear also trousers that show my hips smaller. Now I have a pot belly unfortunately. When you are a mother you can’t take care of yourself much as before. You need time to make your body as before. So I try to find clothes that will hide my belly as well.

Is there any famous woman whose style you like?

I don’t follow anybody actually. I don’t care much who wears what. I have my own style.

Are there any brands you especially like?

I prefer Koton, Mavi Jeans, Oxxo and LC Waikiki most of the time. On the other hand I like not much expensive and good quality products. I don’t have brand obsession. I always wear things that I believe that fits me the best.

Can you define yourself as a shopaholic?

No, I don’t like wandering in the shops. I mean I don’t like going out just for shopping. I buy mostly in internet. You don’t lose time.

Which websites do you use often?

For instance there is a website as www.trendyol.com. I can find many different brands there or I buy in the website of LC Waikiki.

Her favourite green coat

I buy what I need. I don’t have so many unnecessary shoes for instance.

As I said before I like denim bags. If I can’t find outside, my mother sews for me. But I have a very special black bag for special days.

The black bag is for special days
Are there any very special clothes in your wardrobe?

After pregnancy I gave away all my clothes. My size changed. I was S before but now M. However I have a green coat. Although its size is 34, I can’t give it away. And my dark blue leather jacket. They are precious for me.

PS...

I would like to hear about your fashion world too...
